- The project entered must have been completed between May 2007 and May 2008 in the UK (Great Britain and Northern Ireland only) and not previously entered in the Wood Awards. Furniture may be two years old, so long as not previously entered.
- The project can only be entered using the official entry form on The Wood Awards website www.woodawards.com. If there is any reason you cannot complete this form online then please contact Lauren Franze on 0207 738 1900.
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to establish that there are no restrictions against entering the project by the project owner, designer or any other party. The entrant holds The Wood Awards free of any liability thereof with regard to this condition.
- Good quality photos, a minimum of three - in digital form at a resolution of 300dpi, must be submitted with the entry, demonstrating detail and context as far as is practical. If you cannot supply digital images please contact Lauren Franze on 0207 801 1643.
- The Wood Awards assumes that the right to use all photographs submitted for the Awards has been obtained from the photographer. The Wood Awards may publish submitted photographs in any format in connection with The Wood Awards. Photo credits will be given where requested.
- The Wood Awards organisers assume the right to publicise projects entered in the Awards and to distribute press material in relation to projects for the purpose of promoting the Wood Awards.
- If shortlisted, the wording submitted in the project description may be edited.
- Entry forms and photographs of projects may be exhibited at public exhibitions at the discretion of the organisers and displayed on the Wood Awards website.
- All entries will be displayed at The Wood Awards ceremony at Carpenters’ Hall on the day of the Awards.
- All materials submitted with the entry will become the property of The Wood Awards and will not be returned to the entrant.
- The Wood Awards will make all reasonable efforts to withhold the full address of any project by entrants who specifically request confidentiality. However the general location (City or County) of projects will be published. The full address will be given to the judges for the purposes of visiting if the project is shortlisted. All names and addresses given on the entry form may be used solely by the sponsors and organisers of The Wood Awards for research, marketing and promotion purposes.
- Entries may be entered into more than one category, and if in the opinion of the judges will fare better in a category other than the one entered, may at their sole discretion move the entry into any additional category.
- There is an entry fee of £30 (including VAT) per project entered, regardless of the number of categories any single project is entered into.
- The sponsors of The Wood Awards will expect that entrants have taken reasonable steps to ensure that the timber used has been legally obtained from well managed forests. For example, confirmation of this may already exist in supplier documentation - especially if the timber is certified or supported by relevant information from suppliers that are actively committed to implementing the Timber Trade Federation’s Code of Conduct. - The organisers of the Wood Awards reserve the right to reject any entry at their sole discretion.
- Any entries received after the 21st May will not be included, at the organiser’s discretion.
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure if the architectural project is short listed there is no restriction against on-site viewing by the judging panel (during June, July and August by mutual arrangement).
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that if their furniture project entry is short listed, it is made available for transport to and from Carpenters’ Hall, London, EC2N 2JJ for a short period in early September 2008 if practical, at their own cost. Any necessary transport insurance is the responsibility of the entrant.
- Individual judges will not participate in judging any project in which they have acted in any professional capacity.
- The judging panel’s decision is final.
- Winning and shortlisted companies can use The Wood Awards logo on promotional materials upon written consent from the Organiser.
