Project Title: Runnymede Borough Council Chambers
Location: Addlestone, Surrey
Wood Species: EUROPEAN ASH
Product Description
The Project
This is the first in a new generation of joint civic offices within the UK, meeting Government aspirations to combine a range of services under one roof, in this instance the local council, the police and the library.
The vision for the council chambers was to create a thoroughly modern environment full of light and smooth, clean lines. Using 2” solid white Ash, Benchmark crafted comb jointed curved desks with fully integrated audio visual and IT services and a curved, staged public gallery from solid and veneered ash.
The striking, slatted wall panels are lined with coloured fabric and acoustic foam marrying visual interest with functional need.
