Celebrating the‘ Bristol Byzantine’ architectural style of the original building, Bristol’s Victorian concert hall has been thoroughly refurbished and reimagined as a world-class centre of musical excellence.

Bristol Beacon’s existing fabric and features have been repaired, restored and upgraded, while high-performing new timber elements are incorporated to create an acoustically rich and visually warm environment.

A comprehensive restoration of timber components has seen the roof light lantern and its intricate dental detailing returned to its former glory. A grille covering the venue’s focal, 14-foot concert hall organ has also been restored, using salvaged original material where possible and careful replication when needed.

The main Beacon Hall, which can seat 1,800 people, has been brought to life with a highly crafted and carefully engineered interior. New timber-lined balconies overlook the stage, while a bespoke fleet of ceiling reflectors and balcony shields combine acoustic performance with distinctive design. Sitting beautifully against the auditorium’s brick walls, the use of walnut joinery and oak flooring reflects a commitment to quality and longevity, ensuring the Beacon will stand the test of time.
