Making in the History

Referencing the manufacturing history of the site, this array of sculptural objects populates the foyer space of the newly renovated, landmark Heal’s Building in central London.

Making in the History is a permanent site-specific installation of sculptures, cabinetry and furniture maquettes and drawings.

Exploring the architectural, design and manufacturing heritage of the building, the commission seeks to reimagine the past through the creation of new works that populate the space like mementos. The array of wood turnings are part of an iterative process and express ideas in a kind of flux, oscillating between fragments of the past and projections into the future.
