Wall Panels Utilising Timber Offcuts

Created from sections of hardwood left over from furniture making, these captivating wall panels reimagine the feeling of textile through timber.

Integrating the unique qualities and irregularities of each piece of timber, these collaborative sculptural works are made by a London-based craft partnership that combines their sensibilities of carpentry and textile artistry.

Seeking to challenge the possibilities of material, the panels are made by stitching together timber offcuts, creating patchworks of fragments. Using 3D modelling and CNC routing, each panel is milled with gentle undulations, designed in response to the natural features of the timber, creating a surface reminiscent of rippling fabric.

Patterns are scorched onto the surface using a laser cutter, contrasting the graphic precision of the digital engraving process with the natural grain and texture of the timber.
