- The entry must NOT have been previously entered in the Wood Awards before.
- The project can only be entered using the official entry form on the Wood Awards website www.woodawards.com. If for any reason this form cannot be completed, please contact Timber Development UK and ask for the Wood Awards on 020 3205 0067 or email [email protected].
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to establish that there are no restrictions against entering the project by the project or furniture owner, designer or any other party. The entrant holds the Wood Awards free of any liability thereof with regard to this condition.
- Good quality photos, a minimum of three – as .jpeg files of a maximum of 8MB each – must be submitted as specified on the entry form to complete your entry. The images should demonstrate detail and context as far as is practical.
- The Wood Awards assumes that the right to use all photographs submitted has been obtained from the photographer. The Wood Awards may publish submitted photographs in any format in connection with the Wood Awards. Photo credits will be given where advised and requested.
- By submitting images and text copy via the entry form you are confirming that you agree to the use of these images and text (and have the necessary authority to grant us permission) by the Wood Awards and its organisers and sponsors.
- The Wood Awards organisers and sponsors assume the right to distribute press material and case studies in relation to projects for the purpose of promoting the competition.
- The Wood Awards will make all reasonable efforts to withhold the full address of any project by entrants who specifically request confidentiality. However the general location (city or county) of projects will be published. If the project is shortlisted, the full address will be given to the judges for the purposes of visiting at a mutually agreed time.
- All names, addresses and email addresses given on the entry form may be used solely by the sponsors and organisers of the Wood Awards for research, marketing and promotion purposes. These details are never sold or disclosed to a third-party.
- Categories – If the opinion of the judges is that your project will fare better in a different category than the one entered, they may at their own discretion move the entry into any other appropriate category.
- There is no entry fee for the Wood Awards.
- The sponsors and organisers of the Wood Awards expect that entrants have taken reasonable steps to ensure that the timber used in their entry has been legally obtained from well-managed forests. For example, confirmation of this may already exist in supplier documentation, especially if the timber is certified or supported by relevant information from suppliers that are actively committed to implementing the Timber Development UK’s Code of Conduct.
- The organisers of the Wood Awards reserve the right to reject any entry at their sole discretion.
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure if an architectural project is shortlisted there is no restriction against on-site viewing by the judging panel (between August and October by mutual arrangement).
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that if their furniture project entry is shortlisted, it is made available for transport to and exhibiting during the London Design Festival in September. Should transportation of the piece not be possible, i.e. the piece is very large or installed, other arrangements will be made for the judges to see it in person. Fitted furniture must be located in the UK.
- If the architectural practice or design studio of a current judge wishes to enter a project, under precedent already set, that judge will not participate in the judging of that category.
- The decision of the judging panel is final and correspondence cannot be entered into.
- Winning and shortlisted companies can use the Wood Awards logo on promotional materials upon written consent from the Organiser.
