Stand S856 & S860, Ecobuild 4 – 6 March 2014, ExCeL London
Building on its continued success and following its most successful awards year to date, the national Wood Awards will once again launch its 2014 Call for Entries at the world’s leading event for sustainable design, construction, energy and the built environment – Ecobuild.
From 4-6 March, the nation’s premier design competition for the world’s only naturally sustainable material will showcase the 2013 shortlist and winners at the Ecobuild event, held at ExCeL in London.
David Venables, European director of the American Hardwood Export Council and founding major sponsor said, “The Wood Awards’ role – to inform and inspire – is even more vital now than when the event was first created. Timber is increasing its share within the construction industry and is a major part of the materials pallet for furniture designers. These trends are set to continue as the real environmental benefits of using wood become more apparent. Our aim is to inspire as many people as we can to consider and use wood in their designs, and we encourage those who already do, to enter!” With Ecobuild attracting the design and construction industry’s most influential professionals, the Wood Awards anticipates a bumper crop of entries for 2014.
The national Wood Awards showcase excellence in wood design, architecture and construction, and has ever-growing credibility within the design community.
The Awards are made possible by the major sponsorship of the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), the Carpenters’ Company, TRADA and Wood for Good. Other sponsors include American Softwoods, BRE, Canada Wood, and new from 2014, the combined sponsorship of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) and the return of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) as a supporter.
The Wood Awards is free to enter. Building and furniture entries completed in the last two years and not entered before can be submitted from 4th March via www.woodawards.com. Build your reputation in wood.
