Building on the success of the recent Wood Awards competition, TRADA is organising a new series of site talks and visits of some of the award-winning and shortlisted projects from 2012.

Aimed at architects, designers, engineers, and in fact anyone with a general interest in excellence in building design, these early evening talks will celebrate and examine the innovative use of timber in a wide range of modern architectural solutions.

The first talk of the Wood Awards Talk series will be held at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, London. Gold Award winner of last year’s competition and normally closed to the public, the Wood Awards has made available this beautiful venue exclusively for guests to experience the building directly. The talk will be presented by Andy Mytom, David Morley Architects and Tim Lucas, Price & Myers.

Tickets for the Wood Awards Talks are available for free to TRADA members and £18 for non-members. Advanced booking is essential. For a booking form click here or contact Julie Hockin on [email protected]or 01494 569642.

The Wood Awards have made their mark on the architectural and design landscape, becoming a ‘mark of excellence’ in wood, with past Gold Winners including leading names such as Stephen Marshall (for the Rothschild Foundation), Glenn Howells (for the Savill Building) and Simon Conder (for Pinion’s Barn).
