Visitors to Timber Expo at the Birmingham NEC, 24-25 September will not only be able to see the Wood Awards shortlist in full but will be able to hear from a number of the shortlisted projects during the Timber Talks programme. An integral part of the show, the Talks will feature some of the biggest names in the timber industry discussing some of its hottest topics.
Organised by TRADA, Timber Talks will deliver an unrivalled collection of high calibre speakers from all four corners of the built environment including many from the Wood Awards in the session streams Architects & Timber: striking designs and Engineers & Timber: ingenious structures. From niche areas to leading trends, the Timber Talks will be characterised by key industry topics, major names, super projects and big issues. Take the opportunity draw on the expertise, knowledge and experience of a leading panel of speakers and meet like-minded business professionals.
The content for this year’s Timber Talks has been largely created from feedback from more than 200 people from last year’s show and research amongst TRADA members concerning the topics and themes they most wanted to hear about.
Shortlisted Wood Awards projects sharing the secret of their success include: The Exbury Egg, RoominaRoom, Abraham Darby Sports and Learning Academy, Rigg Beck, The Dune House, Abbotsford Visitor Centre, Bishop Edward King Chapel, Mary Rose Museum, and Festival House Tower of Love.
